Lisarb opens Lisbon office to spearhead 1GW European renewables pipeline
Lisarb Energy, a fast-growing global renewable energy developer, is expanding into Europe with a target of 1GW in developed projects by 2023. Lisarb already has a strong presence in Brazil and its expansion into Europe reflects how rapidly markets in the region are growing.
Lisarb will base its European operations in Lisbon with an initial team of six technical staff, supported by the existing UK management and reporting to new Head of Europe, António Loureiro.
António Loureiro, said: “Our new base in Lisbon, Portugal will help us develop, finance, construct and operate new solar, wind, marine and hydrogen projects in Europe. The Portuguese Government is one of the global leaders in renewable energy. Like other European countries, Portugal has a national energy plan and a roadmap to achieve cost effective carbon neutrality by 2050 and has also pledged that at least 80% of its electricity will be from renewables. I look forward to working with the team as we roll out renewable energy projects across Portugal and other European countries, helping to meet their decarbonisation plans.”
Lisarb already has long term Power Purchase Agreements with some of the world’s leading corporate brands across key sectors such as food and drink, utilities, and mobile telecoms. This move into Europe will enable it to support even more companies who are looking to accelerate their ESG agenda and source power from sustainable technologies.
Lisarb is an integrated power producer that develops, finances, constructs and manages a portfolio of utility-scale and distributed energy assets. Lisarb also acquires operating sites. Its aim is to balance profit with purpose, and it has created the Lisarb Foundation to reinvest a percentage of earnings into health and education initiatives in the communities near its renewables schemes.
